Violeta Dinescu about her piano piece “109.2”:

“109.2” habe ich für Susanne Kessels Projekt “250 piano pieces for Beethoven” geschrieben.

Der Titel hat eine Korrespondenz mit der Zeit, in der ich an das Stück gedacht habe. Ich war in Kromeriz (Cehien) und bemerke nolens volens wie die Häuser und Strassen benannt waren. Man sah an einem Haus: 1209.512 z.B. So kam mir die merkwürdige Idee, einen Titel zu finden, in dem es um Gedanken an Beethoven geht, die kryptisch erscheinen könnten, da für ein kurzes Stück nichts anders (für mich) möglich wäre. Ich habe mich auf den 2. Satz (einige Töne im UR-Kontext aber auch im erweiterten Kontext) von der Sonate op. 109 konzentriert.”

Violeta Dinescu (*1953)

The composer Violeta Dinescu was born in Bucharest, Rumania

She graduated with distinction in composition, piano and pedagogy (1977) at the Ciprian Poumbescu Conservatory in Bucharest. 1978 -1982 she has held a teaching position for theory of music, piano and aesthetics at the College of Music George Enescu in Bucharest. In 1982 she moved to Germany to work and live.Violeta is presently a composer and a professor (since 1996) at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg where she lives. Since 1996, she has also organized an International Composer Colloquium. She also initiated an archive of New Music at the University. In 2006 she began a series of Symposions at the University called: “Zwischen Zeiten / Shifting Times”

Her oevre is much performed at home and abroad. Up to now she has received over 50 international awards of recognition for her work.
